Hello, welcome to my portfolio site!
First, a bit about me. My name is Josiah Wang, and I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at Boston University (class of 2011). A few years ago, I picked up my first DSLR, a Nikon D70, and have since upgraded to D90. I got into photography through my friends, but have found it to be a surprisingly good tool to learn about myself – what I like to shoot, what I enjoy watching, etc. It’s given me a different perspective to see and view my life through.
I have not had any formal photography training, though I believe that my experiences (both successes and failures) in capturing moments have been great learning tools.
In retrospect, through photography I have I learned a valuable lesson: that life really is just a fleeting moment, and that one as a photographer needs to balance between living the moment and capturing the defining parts of that moment.
This portfolio attempts to showcase some of what I consider to be my favorite shots that I have beenĀ privilegedĀ to capture over the past two years of shooting. I am by no means a “pro” (though I am constantly striving towards it), only a student of life trying to take notes on what I thought to be important and defining moments of my life.
I currently am not for hire, as I am still concentrating mostly on my studies in university. However, I would be more than happy to share part of my time to help with some project you have in mind. Simply fill out the contact form in the Contact section and I’ll get back to you.
I hope you enjoy this portfolio; hopefully I have been able to share through these pictures some of my experiences with you.
